- New Student Checklist
- Apply to SRJC.
- If using a VA education benefit, apply at va.gov.
- Complete your online orientation, found in your student portal.
- Complete your math and English placement.
- Order official copies of all college transcripts and have them sent directly to SRJC.
- If you are a veteran, you will need to order a copy of their JST and have it sent directly to SRJC.
- Complete the Request for Services form for the Veterans Success Center.
- Once this form is submitted, you will be contacted by the Veterans Success Center's Student Success Specialist for an intake appointment.
- If using a VA education benefit, complete the Statement of Understanding form for the Veterans Success Center.
- If you are a veteran, you should upload a copy of your DD214 and your VA Certificate of Eligibility (if using VA benefits), using our Document Upload form.
- Meet with a Veterans Academic Counselor to create your comprehensive education plan.
- If you are a veteran, you should apply for priority 1 registration by completing Admission's Veterans Priority Registration form.
- Register for your classes.
- Submit a Certification Request form, if you are using a VA benefit (every semester).
- Request for all of your official transcripts and your JST to be evaluated by completing Admission's Transfer Credit Evaluation form.
**If you are a veteran who would like to qualify for priority registration, but do not plan to use VA education benefits, complete steps 1, 3, 4, 9, and 10.**
**Students using Post-9/11 GI Bill must verify their enrollment at the end of each month. Review VA's infographic on how to verify your enrollment.**

- If you are returning to SRJC after more than 2 semesters, you will need to reapply using the CCC Apply application.
- Order official copies of transcripts from any colleges you attended during your time away from SRJC, and have them sent directly to the college.
- Complete the Request for Services form for the Veterans Success Center.
- Once this form is submitted, you will be contacted by the Veterans Success Center's Student Success Specialist to schedule an appointment to meet with a Veterans Academic Counselor.
- Meet with a Veterans Academic Counselor to have your education plan updated.
- Register for classes.
- Submit a Certification Request form, if you are using a VA benefit (every semester).
- Request for all of your official transcripts to be evaluated by completing Admission's Transfer Credit Evaluation form.
